Hardness requirements for mating surfaces
Recommended hardness: HRC ≥ 58. The required hardness depends on many factors; for low-pressure and low-speed applications, softer rotating shafts are also suitable. For soft metals, PTFE6 lip seals are recommended.

Fluid Dynamic Spiral Recirculation Seal: The RCS-D type utilizes a lip seal with a spiral recirculation pattern, improving sealing performance. The rotating shaft is only permitted to rotate in one direction.

PTFE Oil Seal Installation Guide
1. Clean and lubricate the oil seal and all installation parts;
2. Before installation, the oil seal should be fitted onto a smooth shaft with the same diameter as the shaft to prevent over-tightening and installation failure, and to avoid overheating during initial operation;
3. Before installation, apply sealant (such as Loctite 601 or 641) to the outer circumference and end face of the oil seal to prevent leakage at the outer diameter;
4. When fitting the PTFE oil seal lip onto the shaft, the PTFE oil seal lip should be protected to prevent damage to the sealing lip from threads, keyways, etc.;
5. A guide sleeve should be used to install the PTFE oil seal to protect the lip from damage. The guide sleeve has a 15-degree taper angle at the guiding end, and the inner hole of the other end is a sliding fit on the shaft. The outer diameter of the guide sleeve is the shaft diameter + 1mm, with a smooth surface and rounded edges. See Figure 1 for the installation of the PTFE oil seal;
6. The guide sleeve material is recommended to be hard plastic;
7. After the oil seal is installed, it must be fixed with a clamping device and sealed with sealant on the outer circumference and end face. See Figure 2 for the fixing of the PTFE oil seal.
