The Step Seal consists of a PTFE-filled stepped seal ring and an O-ring, suitable for unidirectional pressure sealing in reciprocating hydraulic applications. The O-ring provides radial force and compensates for seal ring wear. It is generally used in conjunction with a guide ring. For rod diameters less than 30mm, a split (open) groove design should be used.
